Preparation: 5 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large skillet, combine the sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is bubbling.

  3. Add the walnuts to the skillet and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the walnuts are lightly toasted and the glaze has thickened.

  4. Transfer the candied walnuts to the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the walnuts are golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove from the oven and let cool completely. The walnuts will become crunchy as they cool.

  7. Once cooled, store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
