How To Make String Beans with Garlic and Oil

Make a quick healthy snack with steamed string beans tossed in garlic and extra virgin olive oil! It’s an easy-to-make, vegan-friendly, Italian side.

Total: 12 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1lbstring beans,fresh, washed and ends trimmed
  • 2tbspextra virgin olive oil
  • 4cloves garlic,sliced thin
  • salt and fresh pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large saucepan filled with 1 inch of water to a boil.

  2. Lower a steamer basket filled with the green beans into it, tightly cover the pan, and steam for 4 to 5 minutes, being careful not to overcook. Cook until beans are tender-crisp, then drain.

  3. In a saute pan, heat olive oil. Add garlic and cook until golden.

  4. Add string beans, salt, and fresh pepper to taste and toss well.

  5. Serve and enjoy!
