How To Make Szechuan Edamame (Soy Beans)

Ingredients

  • 16ozedamame in the pod,(1 package) frozen
  • 2tspsesame seeds
  • 3tbspwhite sugar
  • 2tbspsoy sauce
  • 2tspolive oil
  • 1tspred pepper flakes,or more to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the edamame pods in a microwave-safe bowl. Add ¼ cup of water.

  2. Cover and microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes until tender. Drain.

  3. Place the sesame seeds in a skillet over medium heat.

  4. Toast for about 2 minutes until lightly golden.

  5. Add the sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.

  6. Simmer for about 2 minutes until the soy sauce reduces and thickens slightly.

  7. Add the edamame, and toss for 1 to 2 minutes until coated.
