Slow Cooker Jambalaya Recipe

This spicy rice dish will take you straight to the south with its delicious flavors! Use sausage, shrimp, and cajun spice to bring out the flavors in this simple crockpot recipe.

How To Make Slow Cooker Jambalaya

A great and easy way to make the New Orleans favorite dish with less effort.

  • 2 lb boneless chicken thighs (skinless )
  • 1 lb sausage (sliced, smoked )
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 3 stalks celery (chopped)
  • 1 can tomatoes (diced , with juice)
  • 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun spice mix
  • 1 tsp thyme (dried )
  • 1 tsp oregano (dried )
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  1. Mix the chicken, sausage, onion, celery, tomatoes, garlic, chicken broth, spice mix, thyme, and oregano in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 5 hours.

  2. Put in the shrimp and rice and raise the heat to high.

  3. Cook for another 30 minutes and top with green onions if desired.
