How To Make White Texas Sheet Cake

This sheet cake recipe comes together in less than an hour and can feed a crowd! Enjoy it with bites of sweet almond frosting on top for a sweeter treat.

Ingredients

  • 1cupbutter,(2 sticks)
  • 1cupwater
  • 2cupsall purpose flour
  • 2cupswhite granulated sugar
  • 2large eggs,beaten
  • ½cupsour cream
  • 1tspalmond extract
  • 1tspbaking soda
  • 1tspsalt

For Frosting:

  • ½cupbutter,(1 stick)
  • ¼cupmilk
  • cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  • ½tspalmond extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the butter and water to a boil.

  2. In a large bowl, add flour and sugar, then mix. Then, add in eggs, sour cream, almond extract, baking soda and salt.

  3. Slowly pour in the boiling butter/water mixture. Stir with a spatula until well combined and smooth.

  4. Pour into a greased 15×10-x1-inch baking sheet.

  5. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Cool for about 20 minutes.

Frosting:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the butter and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat, and then stir in sugar and extract.

  2. Stir until smooth and all combined. Spread over warm cake.

  3. Decorate cake with sprinkles, serve, and enjoy!
