Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick mix, sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.

  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter in the pan.

  5. Pour the remaining batter over the sugar mixture in the pan. Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture on top.

  6. Using a knife, gently swirl the batter and sugar mixture together to create a marbled effect.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the coffee cake to cool for a few minutes before serving.
