  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup cornmeal
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and 1 cup of flour. Mix until well combined.

  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of the prepared pie dish to form the crust.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, milk, cornmeal, salt, and remaining ½ cup of flour until smooth.

  5. Pour the chess filling into the crust.

  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

  7. Allow the chess cake to cool before serving.
