Ingredients

  • 2 tea bags
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. Steep the tea bags in the boiling water for 5 minutes.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar.

  4. Remove the tea bags from the water and add the tea to the dry ingredients.

  5. Mix in the melted butter and egg until well combined.

  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the tea loaf to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.
