How To Make Rich And Creamy Vanilla Cake With Fudge Icing
Ingredients
For Cake:
- 2/3 cup butter, at room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
For Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
- 3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 6 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 cake pans with cooking spray.Â

Beat the butter in a large bowl and sugar until it is fluffy. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Divide the batter into both of the pans. Let them bake for 25-30 minutes. Let it cool on a cooling rack.

For the frosting melt the chocolate in a saucepan. Add in the cocoa, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream.

Add the frosting on one baked cake. Place the other half over the other. Spread the remaining frosting over the whole cake.
