How To Make Jewish Apple Cake
This Jewish apple cake has layers of orange juice-flavored batter and sliced apples, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, for a dense sweet treat.

Ingredients
For Cake:
- 3cupsall-purpose flour
- ½tspsalt
- 2½tspbaking powder
- 2cupswhite sugar
- 1cupvegetable oil
- 4eggs,beaten
- ¼cuporange juice
- 2tspvanilla extract
- 3apples,peeled, cored, sliced
For Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:
- 2tspground cinnamon
- 5tspwhite sugar
Instructions
Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:

Combine the ground cinnamon and 5 teaspoons of the sugar. Set aside.
Cake:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour one 10-inch tube pan

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder and 2 cups of sugar. Stir in the vegetable oil, beaten eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Mix well.

Pour ½ of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with ½ of the sliced apples and sprinkle with ½ of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Pour the remaining batter over the top and layer the remaining sliced apples and cinnamon sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 70 to 90 minutes.
