Jell-O Cake Recipe

This is a moist easy-to-make cake. This cake is even better the next day if there is any left! Taste can be varied by using many of the Jell-O flavors.


A wonderful way to serve up jelly with a sponge cake! This tasty dessert dish has a yellow sponge cake base topped off with a layer of jello for that interesting combination. It is highly recommended to serve it with fresh fruits to have a yummy plate of dessert fit to any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix, or white cake mix
  • 1 pkg. Jell-O, your choice
  • 1 8- oz. Cool Whip, container

Instructions

  1. Using a 9x13-inch baking dish (glass or metal), bake cake according to package directions.
  2. As soon as the cake is done, make the Jell-O according to package directions.
  3. Poke holes in top of warm cake and pour hot Jell-O over the cake letting it soak in.
  4. Cool in refrigerator for several hours.
  5. Spread Cool Whip over top of cake.
  6. You can vary this cake.
  7. Try lemon cake mix with lemon Jell-O or strawberry cake mix with strawberry Jell-O.
  8. Be creative.
