A simple one-bowl recipe for incredibly moist spice cake, all in under an hour! A delicious blend of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice along with walnuts for a tasty crunch.

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • ½ tsp cloves ground
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Pour into a buttered 9x12-inch pan.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes (or until firm in the middle).

  5. Cool on a rack before cutting.
  6. You can frost this cake with a white icing or simply serve it as is.
