- 1egg
- 1cupmolasses
- ¼cupsugar
- 1cupbuttermilk
- 3tbspmelted butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 9-inch cake pan.

Whisk flour, baking soda, salt and ginger in a small bowl.

Combine egg, molases, sugar, buttermilk, and melted butter in a separate bowl.

Using a hand mixer, mix wet and dry ingredients just until smooth. Pour into prepared pan and bake 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
