How To Make Cherry Sheet Cake

Pretty and definitely eye-catching, this sheet cake has a moist cherry jello cake base and a topping of smooth almond buttercream. Yum!

Ingredients

For Cake:

  • 1pkgwhite cake mix
  • 3eggs
  • ¾cupoil
  • ½cupwater
  • 3ozcherry instant jello
  • 10ozmaraschino cherries,drained

For Almond Buttercream Frosting:

  • ¼cupbutter,softened
  • 4ozcream cheese,softened
  • 2tspalmond extract
  • 3cupspowdered sugar
  • 2-3tbspmilk

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    2. Begin by adding the cherries to a blender or food processor and blending.

    3. Mix cake mix, eggs, oil and water in a large bowl until well blended. Add JELL-O mix and pureed cherries. Mix well.

    4. Pour into a greased 9×13-inch pan.

    5. Bake for 30 minutes.

    6. Let cake cool.

    7. While cake is cooling make frosting by creaming together the butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk – blend well. Frost cake. ENJOY!
