How To Make Sesame Scallion Tortillas

A quick and easy dish, scallions and sesame provide a sharp, minty, and lowkey earthy taste for these scallion tortillas that are made in just 40 minutes.

Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3cupsflour
  • 1tspsalt
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • 4tbspcanola oil
  • 1tbspsesame oil
  • ½cupscallions,sliced
  • 1cupwarm water

Instructions

  1. Put the flour, salt, and baking powder in the stand mixer. Turn on for a few seconds to mix the dry ingredients together.

  2. Add the water, sesame oil, scallions, and canola oil. Turn on the dough hook and let it start combining.

  3. Stop to scrape the dry ingredients off the side if they are not incorporating well into each other. Keep the dough hook running until the dough is a smooth ball.

  4. Put a bit of flour onto a flat surface. Cut the dough in half, then each half in half, until you have about 16 equal pieces.

  5. Then using the palm, flatten the balls as much as possible. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then roll as thin as possible.

  6. Put into a skillet that has been brushed with some canola oil and cook on each side for 10 to 15 seconds.

  7. Put onto a plate and cover with damp paper towel.

  8. Use as desired and enjoy.
