How To Make Do-It-Yourself Taco Seasoning

Grab some chili pepper and herbs and make your own taco seasoning. It only needs ingredients usually found in the pantry and takes only 5 minutes to make.

  • 1tbspchili powder
  • ½tbspcumin
  • ½tsponion powder
  • ¼tspgarlic powder
  • ¼tspred pepper flakes
  • ½tsporegano
  • ½tspsalt
  • 1tsppepper
  • pinchcayenne pepper,optional


  1. Mix all ingredients together.

  2. Store in an airtight container.

  3. Store for up to 6 months in a cool dry place.

Recipe Notes

  • To use this taco seasoning for tacos add 2 tablespoons to 1 pound of cooked ground meat (optional, add diced onions).
  • Add ½ cup water and simmer until most of the water has evaporated.
