How To Make Stewed Okra

  • 3 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup okra, sliced fresh or frozen
  • ¼ cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt


  1. In a large saucepan, combine all the ingredients.

  2. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, then simmer, uncovered, for 25 minutes.

  3. Serve warm and enjoy!
