How To Make Stewed Okra
Add more veggies to your weekly menu with this stewed okra recipe. The ubiquitous Southern veg is cooked in a rich tomato broth.
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup okra, sliced fresh or frozen
- ¼ cup onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions

In a large saucepan, combine all the ingredients.

Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, then simmer, uncovered, for 25 minutes.
