How To Make Passion Fruit & Lemon Self-Saucing Pudding

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 passion fruits, pulp extracted
  • 1 lemon, zest and juice
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, passion fruit pulp, lemon zest, and lemon juice.

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.

  6. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1/4 cup water. Pour the mixture over the batter.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.

  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
