Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cooked rice
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the cooked rice, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a simmer.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.

  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and raisins (if using) and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving warm or chilled.
