How To Make Chocolate Pudding with Spiced Berry Syrup

- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes.

In a small saucepan, combine the mixed berries, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
