Serves:
Ingredients
- 6 cups of day-old bread, torn into small pieces
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- 1/4 cup of whiskey
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
-
In a large bowl, combine the bread, milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins. Mix well.
-
Pour the bread mixture into the greased baking dish. Press down gently to ensure the bread is soaked in the liquid.
-
Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.
-
While the pudding is baking, prepare the whiskey sauce. In a small saucepan, heat the whiskey over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and set aside.
-
Once the bread pudding is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
-
Serve the bread pudding warm, drizzled generously with the whiskey sauce.
