Strawberry Layer Brownies Recipe

How To Make Strawberry Layer Brownies

Impress guests with this elegant brownies recipe with a sweet strawberry layer at your next party. Whip up this sweet treat in just under two hours.

Preparation: 45 minutes
Cooking: 35 minutes
Total: 1 hour 20 minutes


For Brownie Layer:

  • Fudge Brownie Mix,1 box, plus box indicated ingredients

For Strawberry Layer:

  • 2tbspunsalted butter
  • ½tspstrawberry extract
  • 2tbspheavy cream
  • 2cupsconfectioners' sugar
  • ¼tspred food coloring,optional

For Ganache:

  • ¾cupdark chocolate chips
  • ½cupheavy cream

For Optional Toppings:

  • chocolate syrup
  • fresh strawberries
  • whipped cream


  1. Preheat the oven and make the brownie mix according to package instructions.

  2. Pour brownie batter into a greased or parchment lined 8 x 8-inch baking dish, then bake according to package directions.

  3. Remove from the oven, then let cool completely.

Strawberry Layer:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and whisk in the strawberry extract, heavy cream, confectioners' sugar, and red food coloring.

  2. Pour the strawberry layer over the baked brownies. Spread out evenly with a rubber spatula.


  1. Add the chocolate chips to a medium bowl, then set aside.

  2. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until a light simmer forms.

  3. Pour the chocolate chips in, then let set for 4 to 5 minutes.

  4. Whisk until a rich chocolate ganache forms.

  5. Pour the ganache over the strawberry layer, then let set for 15 to 30 minutes.

  6. Drizzle the brownies with chocolate syrup, then slice into squares.

  7. Top with a fresh sliced strawberry and whipped cream, if desired.

  8. Serve, and enjoy!
