
How To Make Slow Cooked Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are a classic comfort food. This recipe simplifies it with the use of a slow cooker. The potatoes come out perfectly creamy and garlicky.

Ingredients
- 4lbsred potatoes,cleaned and rinsed, peeled or unpeeled, cut into 1½ inch pieces
- ½cupwater
- 1tspsalt,or to taste
- ½tsppepper,or to taste
- 1½tbspgarlic,(4 cloves), minced
- ¼cupbutter,melted
- â…”cupsour cream
- ½cupcream,warmed in the microwave
- ½cupmilk,warmed in the microwave, or as desired
- chives and butter,minced, for serving, optional
Instructions

Spray a 6 to 7-quart slow cooker with non-stick spray. Place potatoes in the slow cooker then pour water evenly over top.Â

Toss with salt and pepper then add garlic and pour butter evenly over potatoes and garlic. Cover and cook on High heat for 4 to 4½ hours, or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork (don’t drain!).Â

Mash potatoes with a potato masher then add sour cream and heavy cream.Â

Whip with an electric hand mixer until the desired texture is reached while adding in milk to reach desired consistency.Â

Serve warm with more butter and minced chives if desired.
