How To Make Cheesy Crockpot Mashed Potatoes

We're going extra cheesy with this mashed potato recipe. Using three kinds of cheeses it's going to pack a lot of flavor before topping it off with some crispy bacon bits.

  • 3 lbs potatoes around 9 medium, peeled and cubed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup butter cubed
  • ¼ cup low-fat milk
  • 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 ½ cups pepper jack cheese shredded
  • ½ lb bacon strips cooked and crumbled
  • 4 green onions chopped
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder


  1. Take out a Dutch oven and place potatoes in it.
  2. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover and cook until potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes).
  4. Drain and mash potatoes with cream cheese, sour cream, butter and milk.
  5. Stir in the cheeses, bacon, onions and seasonings.

  6. Place in a large bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Take out a greased 3-to-4-inch slow cooker and place mashed potatoes inside.
  8. Cook on low for about 3 hours.
