How To Make Red Wine Crockpot Roast

A delightful and simple crockpot recipe that would surely be a crowd pleaser! A decadent crockpot roast made with a hefty chunk of beef roast, left to cook and soak up the tasty red wine sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups red wine
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 pkg dry onion soup mix
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary , or fresh rosemary
  • 4 lb beef roast, trimmed
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Place roast in crock pot and season with pepper.
  2. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and pour over roast.
  3. Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours.

  4. Remove roast to rest on platter.
  5. Turn crock pot to High.

  6. Whisk cornstarch into juices to thicken.
  7. This makes a wonderfully tasty au jus, or over mashed potatoes.
