Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork belly, skin on
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Score the pork belly skin with a sharp knife, making diagonal cuts.

  3. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, five-spice powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Place the pork belly in a roasting pan and pour the glaze mixture over it, making sure to coat all sides.

  5. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours.

  6. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

  7. Roast for another 30 minutes or until the pork belly is golden and sticky.

  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  9. Serve the sticky belly pork with rice and steamed vegetables.
