How To Make Savory Cheese Crackers

Cheese crackers are a staple snack. Learn how to make these savory crackers that are oozing with flavors from cheddar cheese and savory spice blend.

Ingredients

  • 8ozcheddar cheese,shredded
  • 4tbspunsalted butter,room temperature
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • 3tspsavory spice blend,such as McCormick®
  • 1cupall purpose flour
  • 3tbspice water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F

  2. In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer add the cheddar cheese, butter, savory spice blend, and salt until well combined.

  3. Mix in the flour and add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together but crumbles apart if broken up using hands. If it seems too dry, add a little more ice water.

  4. Divide the dough into 2 halves and pack together in discs. Wrap in parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  5. Roll out dough to ⅛-inch thick, pinching the cracks on the ends. Cut into 1-inch squares and poke a hole in the center of each square for ventilation during baking.

  6. Separate the crackers and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 13 minutes, or until golden brown.

  8. Serve and enjoy!
