  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella cheese stick in half lengthwise to create 16 cheese sticks.

  2. In a shallow dish, whisk the eggs together with salt and black pepper.

  3. Place the flour and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.

  4. Dip each mozzarella stick into the flour, coating it completely, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.

  5. Repeat the process for each cheese stick.

  6. Place the coated cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze them for at least 20 minutes.

  7. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep-fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  8. Fry the frozen cheese sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.

  9. Remove the cheese sticks from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  10. Serve the fried mozzarella cheese sticks hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
