  • 4 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying


  1. In a shallow dish, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

  2. Dip each tomato slice into beaten eggs, then coat with the flour mixture.

  3. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

  4. Fry the coated tomato slices in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

  5. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
