Ingredients

  • 4 large egg roll wrappers
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.

  2. Add the cabbage, carrot, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

  4. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place 1/4 cup of the filling in the center of the wrapper.

  5. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly. Moisten the top corner of the wrapper with water to seal the egg roll.

  6. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  7. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  8. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
