How To Make Witch Hat Cookies

Ingredients

  • -1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • -1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • -1 egg
  • -1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • -1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • -1 tsp vanilla extract
  • -12 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
  • -1/2 cup orange candy melts
  • -4 tsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.

  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and cocoa powder. Gradually add to butter mixture, stirring until well combined.

  4. Roll dough into small 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until set. Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.

  6. In a medium bowl, melt the orange candy melts and vegetable oil together in the microwave or on top of a double boiler.

  7. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted candy mixture over the Hershey’s Kiss to create the witch hat. Allow to cool and set before serving.
