  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in vanilla extract and egg until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

  6. Stir in chocolate chips.

  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.

  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
