Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Lingonberry jam, for serving
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

  5. Slowly whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. Stir in the heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

  7. Serve the turkey Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam and garnish with fresh parsley.
