How To Make Healthy Lamb Meatballs

These baked lamb meatballs are made a little healthier with tender cabbage, and well-seasoned with allspice, turmeric, and cardamom, for a juicy dish.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1lbground lamb,or more to taste
  • ½cupcabbage,shredded, or more to taste
  • cuponion,diced
  • 1egg
  • tbspground allspice
  • 1tbspground cardamom,fresh
  • ¼tspground turmeric
  • ¼tspground sumac
  • salt and ground black pepper,to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Boil the lamb in a pot of water, breaking into small chunks with a spoon, for 5 to 10 minutes until fully cooked. Skim the fat from the water using a spoon and drain the water from the meat.

  3. Mix the cooked lamb, cabbage, onion, egg, allspice, cardamom, turmeric, sumac, salt, and pepper together in bowl.

  4. Roll the meat into 1½-inch balls. Arrange the meatballs on a baking sheet.

  5. Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.

  6. Serve and enjoy.
