
How To Make Lucky Stars Cookies
Shaped like stars, this cookies recipe is sure to brighten up any dinner spread! These sweet treats are made tastier with walnuts and maple extract.

Ingredients
- 1â…“cupsall purpose flour,sifted
- 1½tspbaking powder
- ¼cupbutter
- ¼cupwhite sugar
- 1tspvanilla extract
- 1tspalmond extract
- â…›tspsalt,or more to taste
- 1egg
- 1¼cupsground walnuts
- â…“cupwhite sugar
- 1tbspbutter,melted
- 2tbspwater
- â…›tspmaple flavored extract
Instructions

Sift together the flour and double-acting baking powder. Set aside.

Cream the butter, then gradually add the sugar, creaming well. Blend in vanilla, almond extract, salt, and unbeaten egg.

Gradually add the flour and baking soda mixture, mixing thoroughly.
Nut Filling:

Combine the walnuts, ground or chopped very fine, â…“ cup of sugar, and salt.

Add 1 tablespoon of melted butter, 2 tablespoons of water, and maple flavoring. Mix thoroughly.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to â…›-inch thickness. Cut with star-shaped cookie cutter.

Place a teaspoonful of Nut Filling in the center of each star. Bring the 5 points upright; starting at the base, pinch sides together so points stand up, allowing filling to show. Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes until light golden brown.
