  • 2 stick butter (unsalted)
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup chocolate chip (bitter or semisweet)
  1. Cube butter into medium-sized pieces. Cook it on the saucepan over medium heat. Use a wooden spoon to stir while it's cooking. You'll start to notice that the butter will foam on the edges once it's melted and brown. Turn off heat and transfer brown butter to a small bowl.

  2. Whisk the salt, flour, and baking soda together in a medium bowl. Set-aside your mixture of dry ingredients.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat in the brown butter with light brown and granulated sugars for about several minutes and until the batter is light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the egg yolk, the whole egg, vanilla and milk, and the chocolate chips. Gradually mix in your dry ingredients. Mix together until it forms a dough-like consistency.

  5. Use a plastic wrap to cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture overnight.

  6. Divide the mixture in three baking sheets with about 6 cookies per sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes in a 350° oven. Remove, let cool and enjoy.
