- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper and greasing the surface.

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar, cream, butter, and corn syrup.

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved.

Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil, without stirring.

Continue to cook the caramel until it reaches a temperature of 248°F (120°C) on a candy thermometer.
