Avocado toast is a classic breakfast fare that always hits the spot. This five-ingredient recipe has a runny egg that adds so much creaminess to the dish.

  • ozwhole grain bread,(1 slice), toasted
  • 1ozmashed haas avocado,(¼ small)
  • cooking spray
  • 1egg,large
  • kosher salt and black pepper,to taste
  • hot sauce,optional


  1. Mash the avocado in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat a small nonstick skillet over low heat, spray with oil and gently crack the egg into the skillet. Cover and cook to the desired level of doneness.

  3. Place mashed avocado over toast, top with egg, salt and pepper and hot sauce if desired!
