How To Make Garlic Cheese Toast Recipe

A classic garlic and cheese toast recipe perfect as a side dish for Italian mains like pasta and lasagne. For a lighter meal, you can also dip it in savory soups like clam chowder or minestrone or pair it with some salad!

  • ½ cupsalted butter
  • 2clovesgarlicminced
  • ½ cupcheddar cheeseshredded
  • ¼ cupMonterey jack cheese
  • ¼ cupparmesan cheeseshredded
  • salt and pepperto taste
  • 10slicesthick white breadregular or sourdough


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Butter one side of the pieces of bread with butter. Place on a baking sheet butter side down.

  3. Combine remaining butter, garlic and cheeses in a food processor. Pulse until mixed.

  4. Spread over the unbuttered side of the bread. Place in the oven on the middle rack and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
