How To Make Dirty Rice
Looking for a way to flavor up white rice? This dirty rice recipe should do the trick! It combines ground beef, chicken broth, and sausage for a meaty dish.

Ingredients
- 1tbspolive oil
- 8ozlean ground beef
- 8ozbulk sausage
- ½cupchicken liver,minced, optional
- 1medium onion,diced
- 1green pepper,diced
- 1cupcelery,diced
- 3clovesgarlic,minced
- 1½tsp*cajun seasoning,(see Recipe Notes for recipe)
- 1½cupswhite rice,uncooked
- 3½cupschicken broth
- 2bay leaves
- salt and pepper,to taste
- green onion,for garnish
Instructions

Heat olive oil over medium high heat in a dutch oven or heavy bottomed pan.

Add beef, sausage, and chicken liver, if using. Cook until no pink remains.

Add onion, garlic, green pepper, celery, and Cajun seasoning. Stir for about 5 minutes until softened.

Add rice, broth and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for about 20 to 23 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Garnish with green onions and serve.
