Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

  5. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. In a shallow dish, mix together 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll warm churros in the mixture until coated.

  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
