Ingredients

  • ½large red cabbage,sliced ÂĽ-inch thick
  • 2tbspbutter
  • 2tbspsugar
  • ÂĽcupbalsamic vinegar
  • kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced red cabbage and toss to coat with the butter.

  2. Sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly wilted.

  3. Sprinkle sugar over the cabbage and toss to coat evenly. Add the balsamic vinegar to the pot. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low.

  4. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes total until the cabbage is completely tender, stirring often. 

  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
