How To Make Spanish Garlic Shrimp (Gambas al Ajillo)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and slightly curled.

  4. Season with salt to taste and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

  5. Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice.

  6. Serve the garlic shrimp hot with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful oil.
