How To Make Rich and Creamy Potatoes au Gratin

Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a greased baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes.

Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over the potatoes.

Repeat the layers until all the potatoes and cheese are used, ending with a layer of cheese on top.

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper over medium heat until steaming. Do not let it boil.

Pour the heated cream mixture over the potatoes, making sure all the potatoes are covered.

Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and golden brown on top.

Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
