How To Make Tomato Tuna Melts

Use your summer tomatoes for a healthy and tasty tomato tuna melt. This is a breadless alternative plus you can enjoy the savory cheese of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 5ozsolid white tuna in water,(1 can) slightly drained
  • 2tbsplight mayo
  • 3tbspcelery,finely chopped
  • 1tbspred onion,finely chopped
  • 1tspred wine vinegar
  • 2ripe tomatoes,halved
  • 4cheddar cheese slices,(2½ oz total)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler to high and adjust the rack second from the top. Arrange the tomatoes on a baking tray, season with salt and pepper.

  2. Combine the tuna salad ingredients in a small bowl.

  3. Top each with ¼ cup of tuna salad and a slice of cheese. Broil the tomatoes until the cheese is melted for about 1 to 2 minutes.

  4. Remove from the oven and eat immediately.
