  • 1 prepared pie crust
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Set aside.

  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and let it cool. Once cooled, crumble the bacon.

  3. In the same skillet, cook the diced onion until softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

  4. Sprinkle half of the bacon, onions, and Gruyere cheese evenly over the pie crust.

  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

  6. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon, onions, and cheese in the pie crust.

  7. Top with the remaining bacon, onions, and Gruyere cheese.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
