How To Make Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Grab a bite of these savory sweet potato fries, generously seasoned with spices, and oven-baked to crispy perfection, for a delightfully healthy snack!

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2lbsorange fleshed sweet potatoes,(yams), (3 large)
  • 3tbspextra-virgin olive oil
  • tspkosher salt
  • 2tbspspice,or spice combination of choice*

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. For more crispiness, preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.

  2. Place a roasting pan or heavy-duty baking sheet in the oven to preheat.

  3. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut off the ends. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and then, if very long, in half crosswise. Cut each piece into ¼ to ½-inch thick wedges.

  4. Alternately, slice the peeled sweet potato into disks either with a mandolin or a sharp knife.

  5. Put the sweet potatoes into a large bowl, add the oil, then mix well to combine. Sprinkle with salt and spices of choice, then use hands to mix well and coat.

  6. Remove the preheated baking sheet from the oven. Carefully spread the sweet potatoes out in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 15 to 25 minutes. After the first 10 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven, then use tongs to turn over all of the sweet potato pieces.

  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 15 minutes, or until they are well browned.

  9. Let cool for 5 minutes.

  10. Serve with favorite dip, and enjoy!
