How To Make Instant Pot® Farro Recipe

  • 1 cup of farro
  • 2 cups of vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1 tsp of dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish


  1. Rinse the farro under cold water and drain.

  2. Set the Instant Pot® to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.

  3. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

  4. Add the farro, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper to the Instant Pot®. Stir to combine.

  5. Pour in the vegetable broth and give everything a good stir.

  6. Close the Instant Pot® lid and set it to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.

  7. Once the time is up, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then use the quick release to release any remaining pressure.

  8. Remove the lid and fluff the farro with a fork.

  9. Serve the Instant Pot® farro topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
