How To Make Instant Pot Picadillo

You only need 10 minutes to prep this easy picadillo recipe, and let the instant pot simmer tender beef and olives in a savory tomato sauce!

  • lbsground beef,93% lean
  • ½large onion,chopped
  • 2garlic cloves,minced
  • 1tomato,chopped
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • ½red bell pepper,finely chopped
  • 2tbspcilantro
  • 4oztomato sauce,(½ can)
  • 1tspground cumin
  • 2bay leaf
  • 2tbspalcaparrado,or capers, or green olives


  1. Press the sauté button, then brown the meat and season with salt and pepper. Use a wooden spoon to break the meat up into small pieces until no longer pink.

  2. Add the onion, garlic, tomato, salt, pepper, and cilantro and stir for 1 minute. Then, add the alcaparrado or olives and about 2 tablespoons of the brine, cumin, and bay leaf.

  3. Add tomato sauce and 3 tablespoons of water and mix well. Cover and cook for High pressure for 15 minutes.

  4. Natural or quick-release and enjoy!
