  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, gently toss the blackberries with half of the brown sugar and spread them evenly in the baking dish.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.

  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the blackberries, covering them completely.

  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the blackberries are bubbling.

  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

  7. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
